Carry this on to the ones that lost their way.

THAT’S IT. Thanks for your time.
I’ve started writing (focusing on the positive) in a dark blue journal instead of ranting vaguely on a website where I act like people actually read what I write. I’m creating a new blog for my vocal training progress so I’ll be accountable for getting better, but I’m not going to spend much more of my youth glued to a computer screen when there’s a whole world out there for me to live and experience. (As gay and cheesy as that sounds.)
Goodbye, procrastination and solace in Tumblr.
So there we go. After over an hour, I’ve managed to delete two and a half year’s worth of Tumblr posts. The only stuff left is from June 2012 and up, because I feel like last summer was when my life really began and I don’t want to delete any of those experiences and memories.
Anyway, I’ve gotta stop talking to this inanimate object and I’ve gotta stop living my life through all these pictures and posts and recollections and concerns about society that I found on the Internet. I don’t want the last of my teenage years to revolve around my computer screen. I don’t want to share every detail of my life, which is a habit I got from blogging so much. And that’s personal and no reflection on what anyone else is doing.
So goodbye, Tumblr, for awhile. I don’t expect to make many posts anymore, maybe ten a month unless something truly important is happening or I feel the urge to make more gifs. Learning to express myself without this blog that I’ve had since freshman year will be annoying and tough but that also means I’ll get to invest in a diary and put a lot of effort into it so that I’ll have it for years to come.
I’ve come a long way, man. It’s been good. See you.
I feel like we’ll all be making a post like this one day, but some will stay here after everyone has left and be like the people who still use MySpace. -_-
On Monday, Kathleen Hanna (of Bikini Kill, Le Tigre and The Julie Ruin) had a radio interview on “Q with Jian Ghomeshi,” where she spoke about the importance of public mistakes, the resurgence of the ‘90s, and why she is still pissed off twenty years later (“Does anybody remember that the Equal Rights Amendment never passed?”).
In the wake of the reissue of Bikini Kill’s entire catalog, Hanna speaks a lot about the band’s goals, such as encouraging girls to get out and make their own music.

Whenever I see my more successful friends posting on Facebook about getting into Berklee or having fun at Berklee or preparing for Berklee, I alternate between being driven onward to get in myself and getting into brief funks of self-loathing…..argh.
